3D Printed Home Decor from Our Studio: What NIKKUstudio Actually Makes

Most people picture something unfinished when they hear "3D printed decor." Here is what we actually make, what it is made from, and who it is for.

3D Printed Home Decor from Our Studio: What NIKKUstudio Actually Makes

When people first hear "3D printed home decor," they usually picture something unfinished. A plastic prototype. Something that belongs in a workshop, not on a shelf in someone's living room.

That assumption is fair. Most 3D printed things do look like that. Ours do not, and that was an intentional choice from the beginning.

Here is what we actually do, what we make it from, and who it is for.

We are a small studio. Everything comes from one place.

nikku studio is based in the Czech Republic. We design and print home decor, functional accessories, and a few things that are just fun to own. There is no factory involved. No bulk orders sitting in a warehouse. Each piece is printed in our studio, checked, and sent.

The range is wider than most people expect: vases that hold dried flowers, cable organisers that actually keep a desk looking clean, small wall pieces that make a corner feel finished, and some toys and puzzles too, because not every object needs a practical reason to exist.

Most pieces sit under 500 Kč. Around 20 EUR. We wanted the price to feel like a reasonable choice, not a compromise.

What is PLA, and why does it matter?

PLA is the material we print with. It stands for polylactic acid, which sounds complicated but means something simple: it is a plant-based plastic, made mostly from corn starch.

Here is why that matters. PLA has a slightly textured, matte surface. It does not have the shiny, hollow look that most factory-made plastic carries. Pick up one of our vases and it feels closer to something handmade than something bought from a shelf at a big chain store.

It is also light. A 16 cm vase weighs almost nothing. You can move things around without thinking about it.

One thing worth knowing before you order: PLA does not do well with water sitting inside it for long. Our vases and planters are designed for dried flowers, pampas grass, or anything that does not need watering. That keeps the material at its best and means zero maintenance on your end.

What we actually make

Home decor : vases, planters, candle holders, small wall art, and decorative pieces. Most have clean shapes, smooth matte finishes, and a scale that works on shelves without taking over. They are the kind of things you place somewhere and stop thinking about, because they just look like they belong there.

Functional accessories : cable organisers, desk stands, holders, hooks, and mounts. These exist to solve a specific problem. The cable organiser keeps the back of your desk from becoming a mess. The phone stand stays put. The pieces do what they should, and they look fine doing it.

Toys and novelties: puzzles, fidget pieces, desk objects. These are for people who like having something small to pick up while they think. Or for gifts when you know someone well enough to give them something a bit unexpected.

Who orders from nikku studio?

Mostly people who pay attention to their home. Not necessarily people who spend hours on interior design, but people who look at a desk or a shelf and think: something is missing here. Or: this could be cleaner.

The pieces also make good gifts because they are specific. A small vase is not a generic gift. A cable organiser for someone who mentions their messy desk every time they call — that is a specific gift. The price point helps too. You can spend 300 to 400 Kč and give someone something they will actually use and not quietly put in a drawer.

We also get orders from people setting up a home office, finishing a corner of a flat, or looking for something that fills a spot without being expensive or obvious.

How to find the right piece

The shop is organised by type, so it is easy to navigate. A few things that help narrow things down:

If you want something for a shelf that just needs to look right, start with the vases or wall pieces. If you have a specific problem to solve, like cables or needing somewhere to prop your phone, go straight to the functional section. If you are buying as a gift and are not sure what they would want, a small decorative piece in white or a neutral colour tends to be the safest and most appreciated choice.

Every product page lists the exact dimensions. We do this because scale matters more than people expect from a photo alone.

Questions people ask before ordering

Is 3D printed decor actually good quality? It depends on the material, the printer settings, and how well the piece is designed. PLA printed correctly holds its shape, keeps its finish, and does not warp at normal room temperatures. Every piece that leaves our studio gets checked before it goes into the package.

Can the vases hold water? No, and we say this clearly on every product. PLA and standing water are not a good combination over time. Our vases are designed for dried flowers and dry arrangements only.

Do you ship outside the Czech Republic? Yes. We ship across Europe. Exact costs and estimated delivery times show up at checkout based on your location.

How long does an order take to arrive? Most pieces are printed when you order. Typical delivery is 5 to 7 working days. If you need something by a specific date, send us a message before ordering and we will tell you honestly whether it is possible.

What if my order arrives damaged? Get in touch with a photo and we will sort it out. We are a small studio and we take orders seriously.
